In the old landscapes of the banks of the river Miño, upstream of the meeting point with the waters of the river Sil, in the middle of the Ribeira Sacra, is Casa Vilamor, a mansion whose documentary history dates back to the 18th century, and today is dedicated to the rural tourism.
Casa Vilamor is a typical Galician farmhouse of the eighteenth century, which throughout its history had as main dedication, agriculture and livestock; at the end of the decade of the fifties it housed in its interior the school of the town and the housing of the teaching staff.
It was recently rehabilitated for its dedication to rural tourism, trying to maintain in its interior the necessary harmony so that the visitor can enjoy a peaceful rest, without losing the previous structure and trying to maintain in some cases as decorative elements and in others as traditional means to the use within the house, the means and ancestral uses, seeking to make a restoration that respects the tradition and trying to offer maximum comfort at the same time.
Highlighting for example the hórreo where the cereals that are still cultivated are kept, the oven where bread is still made, or the old lareira.
Most of the existing furniture and furnishings have been restored, such as beds, tables, benches, trunks, ... in addition all the newly created elements are made with the same modes and materials as before, and the decoration is based on elements from the area.
Casa Vilamor consists of two floors: on the ground floor, there is a huge interior patio, through which you can access all the rooms of the house, on this floor we will also find the dining room with fireplace and reception, as well as toilets
On the first floor the rooms of the house will be located, all of them with bathroom, heating and central hot water, we will also have on this floor a huge living room with fireplace and a large gallery.
